Dr. Rich Petke, NMD
Dr. Rich is a graduate of the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, and is a licensed naturopathic physician in the State of Arizona. He splits his time between his family medicine practice, All Ways Health, PLLC, in Flagstaff, Arizona, and Jordan Developmental Pediatrics.
The focus of Rich's clinical training in medical school was pediatrics including adolescents. He has received additional medical training in the area of special needs pediatrics including gifted and talented children. In addition to studying clinical hypnotherapy in medical school, Rich has been professionally trained in past-life regression hypnotherapy by Brian Weiss, MD. He is a certified Irlen screener and a licensed Brain Gym Instructor / Consultant. Rich has also received special training in reflex integration work from Harald Blomberg, MD (Sweden) and Svetlana Masgutova, PhD (Poland).
In addition to pediatrics, Dr. Petke sees children and adults with diabetes and works with them to manage their diabetes through diet, medications, and insulin. Dr. Petke's goal is not just acceptable "A1c" values but giving diabetes a meaningful life worth living."
But Rich was not always a physician; in fact you might be surprised to learn that his BS degree is in Computer Science from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. He worked for many years in the field of computers and communications engineering and even authored some of the specifications for the Internet.
Rich has had a variety of hobbies over the years including beekeeping: There is nothing sweeter than fresh honey comb from a hive, but it can be quite a pain to get to it! He is also a semi-professional "story-teller" and enjoys telling tall tales at times.
Rich is an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America. Through scouting Rich has worked with hundreds of adolescents, as a local unit leader, a district and council volunteer, and as a national and international leader.
